Indian Skipper Virat Kohli was Involved in a furious argument with on field umpires Marais Erasmus and Ruchira Palliyaguruge During the match against Bangladesh on Tuesday in Edgbaston.
Kohli was visibly upset after India's Only review was taken away Despite the third umpire not using ball-tracking for an LBW referral.Replays on the big screen soon after the Decision showed that the ball was clipping leg stump which would have resulted in Team India retaining the review upon Umpires's call.
When Mohammad Shami bowled 12th over to Soumya Sarkar the ball Struck between pads and the bat . There was a loud Shout for LBW from Indian fielders but on-field umpire Marais Erasmas was hardly impacted as he decided it rule it not out.
This was second time Virat has been involved in a heated discussion with the on-field umpires in the ongoing World Cup after the match against Afghanistan in which he was fined 25 decent of his match fee.Incidentally, the on-field Umpire whom Kohli had approached with an over-the-top appealing was also Aleem Dar . The offence was Virat Kohli's second since the introduction of the revised code in September 2016. The Indian Skipper now has 2 demerit posts and is just a couple of demerit points away from a two match ban .
According to rules , when a player reaches four or more demerit points within a 24-month period, they are converted into suspension points and a payer is banned. Two suspension points will result in ban from one test or two ODI's or two T20I's , whichever comes first for the player. Therefore, too much fuss in the next few games could lead to a suspension and it could well be during the world cup and India could loose their captain if they reach the final.
